The show with Alara

Feeling super nauseous I enter the wild world of the gravatron. I stop at the gate and tell Alara that I didn't want to go any further. Not that she cared much, she looks at me and drags me into the ride by my arm.

“It looks like nothing I have ever seen before!” Alara shouts out at me. “Me too!” I reply with a quiet and high pitched voice. But, what are these? Alara explains. “I don't know but I think that's what we are meant to rest our back on for when the ride starts."

A man appears through the gate and goes into the center of the room. I notice there was buttons that were there to control the ride plus strange wires and cords. I held onto Alara as she laughs at me for being petrified. Then I also notice that we aren't alone. There were other people. Great, now if I cry out a river everyone will see me. Luckily I don't think that will ever happen, hopefully.

Uh oh I think to myself as the gate shuts slowly and people start to shake. The ride is about to start. Slowly it starts off.” Haha I actually thought it was going to be bad!” I smile to Alara, but no it was bad. Faster and faster the room spins round. My face was sticking to the wall! It wasn't called the gravatron for nothing that's for sure! I turn around to look at Alara and she was fully upside down! Fun! I think to myself and do the same. I wanted to talk to her and laugh but just as before, my face was numb. All that came out was abwasflekfcm and that must of made Alara feel she had the weirdest friend in the world.

The ride went slower, slower and so slow that it got to the point we had to get up before it was too late to fall on our heads. It stops and me and Alara were officially puffed out, dizzy and more
. But boy was that FUN.

The English #Hakarena Dissapointment - Jazz

As a new zealander I find this quite offensive and disrespectful. Especially for the maori tribes, they wouldn’t find this very pleasent. Still that it's probably meant to be a joke i think they took it a bit too far and that the english don’t understand even though it's meant to be funny. Overall room 19 and 20 find them scared of the world cup, jealous of our amazing country and have nothing better to do.

Shane hansen inspired art

 Parkvale School

My work has been inspired by an incredibly talented artist named Shane Hansen.
I included a tui bird that represents my house that includes a group of hard working students. I selected Sun, clouds and light blue glimmering  sky because I think sometimes we have great weather here at parkvale. And the last  thing is my korus. a great spiral shape based on a new unwrapping silver ferns and symbolizing life.  That represents the amazing students and the new pupils coming that will spiral around knowledge and turn into true leaders. The colors I used was mainly green, blue, yellow and black. They show the colors of parkvale and it means a lot to show it in my artwork.

Marshmellow Monster - Jasmine

As scout girl going out and roasting marshmallows in the deep dark woods at midnight is the
last thing you would want to do. I realize I was hungry as I looked down at my tummy as it rumbled like boulders down a hill. I stroll past the cabins and hear slight snoring behind the doors... Its either now or never I say to myself.

I start trodding in wet, sloppy puddles and skipping over stones to the nearest fire. I pull out some leftover squishy marshmallows from my raincoat. As I look for some long tree like twigs next to a small gushing river  I find some in the perfect size.  I stuff marshmallows on my stick and begin roasting it on the flaming fire. Strange noises occur in the howling wind making them sound louder and closer, Maybe I was right.

Ripples in the water appear as I chomp on delicious golden  marshmallows. I turn around to see what it was. There stood a reasonably cute and fluffy monster. It  had an aqua tint to it  after seconds it appeared from the water. But then suddenly changed color to pink. I gasp with fear and pull my twig in front of me just as if it was a light saber or a sword. It gave me the evil eyes as it gazed at me. But wait, it wasn’t staring at me it was staring at my marshmallows.

I take another marshmallow out of my pocket and reach out my arm to give it to the monster.
It turned out that it didn’t bite my hand off, it appreciated what I rewarded it with. It’s evil eyes turned out to be sparkling stars peering at me, and by its body language I could tell it wanted more..
Marshmallow after marshmallow I fed my new monstrous pet. But soon that came to an end and that meant No more MARSHMALLOWS! My pet was furious!

Devil eyes appear in her pupils… That meant danger, and danger meant run. I sprinted as FAST as I could. Breaking past twigs and bushes creating scratches on my arms and legs.

Suddenly he corners be between two pine trees. I remember after roasting that golden marshmallow that I didn’t eat it. He picks me up by my shirt and opens his mouth ready to eat me whole. But just before he did I reached into my pocket to grab out my golden roasted marshmallow and tossed it into his mouth like I had just hit a golf ball into the next hole. He dropped me into muddy puddles while eating the scrumptious marshmallow. While he was distracted I slowly back off  to my campfire to put it out with pond water before it was too late. Who wants to wake up to a burning forest surrounding them? I think to myself .Then back to the camp I ran. Have you ever come across a frightening marshmallow monster?

BAN Homework - Jasmine

This is a major problem! The big word...Homework. Nobody likes it whatsoever. Don’t we already have to work at school 6 hours a day and 5 days a week?
We can all agree that it's too much for us kids. We have school work so why homework? Heres a few reasons.

First of all parkvale is such a great school that by the time we’re home our brains will be overloaded with knowledge, We can all agree theres no point in homework with all the great stuff already in our brains! Homework will flow it all out within seconds! Nobody wants that to happen!

Secondly,
Us poor kids need time to take a chill pill after a long six hour day at school. If you think about it even closer I’m sure kids like to spend time with their families as well. Imagine how much fun that would be a nicely fun and most relaxing day with your family!
Lastly This is a reason for the poor hard working and run down most certainly tired teachers out there that suffer printing out millions upon of sheets and marking them after a long busy day...When you could be doing something better like teaching your students new stuff on the main five subjects I was just mentioning.

So teachers, I’m positive you can agree with most varieties of my selected and obviously very helpful reasons why we shouldn’t have homework. So ban homework! Do the right thing, I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely, Jasmine Taylor.

Assembly item - Jazz

     Rendered Image
As I gaze out into the crowd I gulp and listen to the sound of my friends speaking with extra confident voices. I was starting to think it was my turn to talk and confusing myself through all the people.

Clapping loudly with bright smiley faces was all I could think about to cheer myself up. More people start doing their part and doing really well, After a little while I notice my legs started to shake.

I looked down to try make them stop that didn’t work, nor did holding onto my legs tightly. Taking slightly nauseous breaths I see my turn is coming up. Ashleigh was the one person before me, and I start to freak out the littlest bit.

Finally I had to stand up. Luke held the microphone and spoke up loudly. In my head my face was going bright red but in real life my face was most probably pale and full of silence.

Now was the time to be confident. I held the microphone up to my chin and admire all the five hundred kids staring up at me. I talked loud and confidently With my lines right in front of me.  It was spectacular to notice that I had overcome my fear. Maybe it wasn’t so bad after all.

Homework - Jazz

For this weeks homework Mr Ford sent us to create and recycle something made out of plastic, so what I decided to do was make a cool little pencil holder out of a plastic bottle as you can see.

As you can tell I have cut the bottom roughly and put little bits and bobs in it. I also stapled a piece of paper onto it showing my name and a few cool shapes and patterns.

Did you know plastic bottles can be recycled into making  poly props?

Ghost House - Jasmine & Ella

Rendered Image

Jasmine and Ella were enjoying their day as they stroll past their favorite stores . Jasmines mouth suddenly drops with fear as she gazes at a horrifying dump. Or if you want to use the real word, a house with a scattered garden filled with rusted glass.

Ella stares up at the stained and disgustingly moldy windowsills with items particularly strange for the houses look on the outside. Jasmine and Ella do paper scissors rock on who knocks first.

it wasn’t a great idea to do that dare ringing doorbells and running away? Not so good... Ella knew it wasn’t going to end well.
Jasmine and Ella both shake as they perform a session of paper scissors rock. One wrong move would send them to a bad position of knocking on the door.

Unexpectedly Ella turned a wrong hand. It was her first time knocking on a old shattered door. Ella nervously shakes as she knocks gently on the door. She runs away as quick as a heartbeat with nothing on her mind but getting out of the situation.

As they turn away they notice a dark face approaching from the door. They crouch behind a fence that had rusty nails poking out of it, And as soon as possible they run away with fear running through their veins...

Kayaking with ashleigh

Splash! The sound of water filling my ears with excitement as I jump in. Closing my eyes As I go underwater I assume Ashleigh is right next to me. Suddenly I pop up and open my eyes, and yes Ashleigh's right there floating next to me with water dripping down from her face. Then I ask ashleigh, “ Should we jump in again?” Ash replies with a huge “YES!” We rock the kayak back and forward. Then we remember we are both really slippery from the last jump. Flip! Unexpectedly the kayak tips over. “We have capsized!” Blurts ashleigh as she spits out some water. “Yup! And we need to get out before i suffocate under the kayak...” Ash and I tip the kayak to the right way up. “ That… Was … Weird.” I giggle. “Lets get back to shore before I freeze to death”.

Sarina and poppy

Not too long  a

          Sarina and Poppy!
I gazed out  at my shiny furred cat as she trots along the grass. Not knowing she was about to leap onto the fence and have a go at something. That something turned out to be a cat, my other cat. I was super surprised! I raced over to the other side of the fence but as I did I started to go slower and slower so I could see what they were up to without disturbing them. It turned out they were hitting each other. I climbed up onto the fence and yelled at sarina “Sarina stop!” Sarina frowned as poppy hit sarina with her soft paws.

Not too long  after,  poppy speeded away before I could tell her off. Sarina was left still frowning as I took her inside.  Poppy and Sarina are still enemies. Poppy always runs away when she sees sarina now because of what happened. I think they are ok now well, At least i think they are.

The next day : I hear hissing. “Again!?” There they were, fighting once again. “Thats just typical Sarina and poppy”.
And thats how the story ended
